Wynyard Autonomous Vehicles

Transforming legacy aircrafts into mission-ready Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)

The Wynyard Group specialises in converting obsolete, aged aircrafts – small, medium and large airframes – into modern Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that are aimed at supporting security, reconnaissance and monitoring operations.

Governments across the world face a pressing challenge: Whether to give up decades-old aircrafts that are no longer in use, and which required millions of dollars to build, or continue keeping them in hangars at a significant cost. Long-term storage not only takes valuable infrastructure, but also causes environmental concerns related to hazardous waste.

Simultaneously, building a new UAV platform from the scratch requires enormous investment, expertise and years of development before it’s finally deployed. This raises a relevant question: Why throw away airframes when they can be transformed into mission-ready platforms?

At the Wynyard Group, we provide a cost-effective and sustainable alternative.

By integrating existing aircraft with cutting-edge autonomous flight systems, sensors, secure communication systems, we extend the operational life of these assets. There is also a significant reduction in development costs and timeline for deployment. Flexible and scalable, these systems can be customised to meet the specific requirements of security agencies and critical infrastructure operators.

Key features:

Real-time aerial inspection

Live video monitoring for enhanced visibility and quick decision-making

Night vision operations

Advanced night-vision technology ensures effective round-the-clock monitoring.

Thermal imaging

Detect heat signatures and identify potential threat beyond the visible range.

GPS tracking

Precise positioning and tracking of both the aircraft and the assets it’s monitoring.

Customisable payloads

Configurable with a variety of cameras, sensors and specific equipments.

Automated route monitoring

Pre-programmed flight paths ensure continuous coverage of locations and infrastructure.

Explore our range of platforms:

4. Interceptor drones WG 500 (Counter-UAV)

The explosion in the number and use of cost-effective unmanned aerial vehicles has been changing the global security scenario. Hostile drones are increasingly being used to conduct surveillance, deliver payloads or target critical infrastructures. Wynyard’s interceptor drones provides governments, security agencies and critical infrastructure operators with a layer of protection against unathorised aerial threats.

Our interceptor drone is designed to detect, track and engage hostile UAVs. It has a range of 15 kms and speed of up to 400 kms that matches newer jet threats. It has a payload capacity of 1.2 kgs. The WG 500 interceptor can carry a maximum weight of 5 kgs.

The process to intercept is co-ordinated through a command-and-control framework. It can be deployed following detection and classification by radar, RF detection systems or other surveillance technologies. Once an aerial threat is confirmed, the interceptor drone can autonomously or remotely hunt the target and neutralize the danger. This creates a layered defensive capability in which detection, identification, tracking, decision-making and finally, interception, work in tandem to offer protection to critical infrastructure and civil society.

Governments across the South East Asia region are confronting the ever-growing threat of safeguarding airports, ports, energy facilities, military installations, border areas and densely-populated civilian areas from sophisticated UAV threats. Integrating our interceptor into a comprehensive counter-UAV strategy can potentially provide a responsive defensive option that can help security agencies from merely detecting unauthorised drones to neutralising threats before they can cause harm.

5. Anti-jamming UAVs/ Counter Drones

The functioning of contemporary drones are taking place in an atmosphere where communications, navigation and control systems can potentially be interrupted through electronic warfare and the jamming of signals.

Anti-jamming UAVs are intended to operate with greater resilience in electromagnetic environments that helps keep command and control when traditional communication and navigation signals are disrupted. This capability is especially important for defense, border surveillance, protection of critical infrastructure, reconnaissance and other related missions where loss of connectivity can adversely affect effectiveness of operations.

They are designed with electronic resilience, where Wynyard’s anti-jamming UAVs can integrate robust communication links, adaptive radio technologies, interference-resistant data transmission and navigation capabilities.

Conditional on configuration, our platform can support real-time payload data transmission, autonomous or assisted flight operations, secure command-and-control links and adaptation to changing electromagnetic conditions. By combining our platform with technologies designed to lessen the effects of intentional interference, our platforms provide operators with  dependable solution for situational awareness in complex environments.
